Fantasy Film & Fiber Jewelry

Lori Mendenhall: Fantasy Fiber and Film Jewelry My background is a polymer clay and jewelry designer, so I approach the Fantasy Fiber and Films from a different angle. I use them as backgrounds for my resin pendants, and as the dichroic element in my nouveau dichroic glass. I've only just begun experimenting and am sure I'll come up with lots more applications in my work.
Peacock Shimmer (above)- combination of Fantasy Fibers, hot stamped with opaque orchid ink. The fused fiber sheet is cut to fit the bezel and then set in permanently with a layer of resin.
Happy Day - combination of films and fibers, some cut with scrapbooking scissors, some randomly cut and crinkled. Added silver spiral to center of flower and encased the pendant in resin. Strung on freshwater pearls.
Pink Nouveau - dichroic glass - this started life as a plain piece of pink glass. I fused a sparse sheet of Edge of Night Fantasy Fiber and layered it onto the glass with Liquid Glass. After drying, I cut the fiber to fit the glass and covered with resin. After curing I wrapped the pendant in sterling wire.
