Art Glitter on 2009 Capitol Christmas Tree! Arizona Christmas Trees Go To Washington D.C. Arizona State Parks worked with local children from across the state to create holiday ornaments for the 65-foot Apache Junction Sitegreaves National Forest pine tree selected for the 2009 White House Capitol lawn Christmas tree. Since 1970 'the people's tree' has been chosen from one of our national forest. This is the first time Arizona has been invited to provide the tree. Art Glitter supplied several glitter colors and adhesive to embellish the native seeds and pods transforming them into holiday treasures. Make sure to scroll down and see them all up close. We can't wait to see the tree!
Here are several of the ornaments made by Arizona elementary students.
Students from The Center for Creative Education in Cottonwood display their glittery ornaments below.
You will be first to know when we get a photo of the trees at the Capitol.
Thank you Karen for including us!
